Mark Edward Fischbach, aka Markiplier, is a popular YouTube content creator best known for his chaotic-fun Let’s Play videos. He has a huge following and has even made a cameo in a Super Bowl ad, establishing himself as a true celebrity. But he wasn’t always this successful -- and his life might have taken a completely different direction if not for one frightening health scare.
During a recent episode of Logan Paul’s podcast, Markiplier reveals that he can’t drink anymore because he experienced two alcohol-related heart attacks. He said the last time he had too much to drink, he felt extremely dizzy and passed out in the bathroom, prompting his friends to call an ambulance. Luckily, he wasn’t hospitalized for a heart attack but it was a scary night.
In his Unus Annus series, Markiplier often gets very drunk with his good friends Robert Muyskens and Wade Barnes. The three usually play Minecraft together, resulting in some pretty ridiculous creations and destruction, much to the admins’ amusement. Markiplier and his pals are also known for playing games like Mortal Kombat and whacking each other in a cat-and-mouse-style chase.
While Markiplier doesn’t mention if he has any food allergies, it’s possible that he has gluten sensitivity or celiac disease. Both of these conditions require individuals to avoid gluten-containing foods and beverages, such as beer, to prevent inflammation of the small intestines. Fortunately, there are many alternatives for people who can’t drink alcohol, such as kombucha and craft sodas.
