Reddit is an American social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website. It features a front page that displays various posts that have recently trended, and a user-submitted feed divided into several categories (called subreddits) based on subject matter, such as science, politics, relationships, sports, and memes. Users create accounts with a username and password, and can select which subreddits they want to follow. Some subreddits encourage personally revealing posts, and some have strict guidelines about what is and isn’t allowed.
Some people are planners, and like to know what their life will look like in the future. They might get upset if their plans are changed, even if the change isn’t significant. Feeling upset when plans change is normal, and can be a result of feeling a lack of control or experiencing disappointment. It’s important to recognize these feelings and take responsibility for how you respond, whether that’s with self-compassion, practicing coping skills, or seeking support from loved ones or mental health professionals. The good news is, we can learn to embrace the unpredictable, and enjoy the surprise of a new plan. This article was originally published in June 2016 and has been updated to reflect new developments.
