The iMessage service is an essential communication app for many Apple users. Its features are a lot more useful than SMS text messaging, and it has improved significantly over the years with new upgrades from Apple. However, there are some problems that can arise with this feature. One of these is that it can sometimes turn off on its own. If you are experiencing this issue, there are some troubleshooting steps that can help solve the problem.

iMessage may turn off on its own due to issues with your Wi-Fi or cellular network connection. Make sure your signals are strong and stable by checking the number of white bars on the top-right corner of the screen. You can also try to relocate your router or elevate it to improve the signal strength. Additionally, you can try to periodically sign out and then back into your Apple ID account to refresh the network settings.

It is also possible that your iMessage service is disabled for some reasons that are unrelated to your Wi-Fi or cellular network connection. It could be due to a change in your two-factor authentication or an error with your Apple ID sign-in information. To test this, you can send a text message to someone who is not an iPhone user and see if they receive it.

Some people have also found that their iMessage service turned off because they did not update the date and time on their iPhone. To resolve this, you can open the Settings app and tap Messages. You can then toggle iMessage off and then back on.
