Is your controller randomly disconnecting from your console while you're in the middle of a multiplayer match? Are you frustrated that it keeps disconnecting right before you're ready to pull off a legendary 1v4? If so, this article is for you! Before you start throwing your controller in the trash, read on to learn some troubleshooting steps that may help fix this issue.

Hopefully, these tips will help you get your controller back up and running so you can resume your gaming!

1. Check your controller battery.

A low battery can cause your controller to disconnect from the console. To check your controller battery life, press the PS button to open the Quick Menu and look for a controller icon with a battery status display on the left side of the screen. If the battery is low, plug it in and let it charge for a bit. If this doesn't solve the problem, move on to the next step.

2. Check for interference.

Other wireless devices, such as other gaming consoles and even your Wi-Fi router, can interfere with the signal between your controller and your PlayStation 4. Try moving these objects farther apart or using them wired to see if this fixes the problem.

3. Restart your console.

Sometimes, the problem isn't with your controller at all — it's with the console itself. If the PlayStation light on your console is flashing white instead of turning solid blue, restart the console by holding down the PS Button and going to Power > Restart PS4. This will reset all of the system settings and may fix your controller issue.
